Ballinora GAA Club celebrated its 100th birthday on April 20th, 2024. This is a very special year in the history of our club. Great credit has to be given to all our community volunteers, down through the years, for the work that has been done on and off the playing field, making our history and tradition matter to us.
Féile Excitement
The Regional Féile Festival for Hurling (Féile na nGael) will take place on Saturday, June 22nd, with the Gaelic Football (Féile Peile na nÓg) finals on Saturday, June 29th. These events are set to welcome hundreds of players from all around the Country.
Fitting in its 100th Year, Our Club has made another bit of history by qualifying in both the Premier 2 codes, with the same panel of twenty-four players.
Ballinora GAA is one of a small number of Cork Clubs to win both the Cork sections of the Féile in both hurling and football, setting up two very exciting weekends for our community, club, players and families.
The hurlers are first up, traveling to Clare, before these same players will go at it again the following week in Tipperary.
Team spirit combined with hard work and practice has brought this group of great boys to a wonderful accomplishment, and all at our club are so proud of their efforts.
On the road to the Féile Finals, they were involved in many thrilling games, every boy played, and every boy played their part, with enjoyment, enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Team achievements and good days like these don’t happen that often, the friendship and bond of this group is always great to see, and the many memories they have made together shall be treasured for lifetimes. To a boy, worthy of praise and support. We hope to enjoy more high jinks at the upcoming Féile Finals.
From the players representing Ballinora and Cork over the coming two weekends, we would like to acknowledge; our great community and club spirt, this has a big influence on all young people in our parish, and all efforts behind the scenes. It is where all the quiet and great work is done. Thanks Your Support.
