Spring ’23 Bulletin

As the long evenings approach the sound of sliotars and footballs can be heard from both our pitches accompanied by a significant amount of activity by all age groups. Full compliments to our grounds team of John Dooley and Pat O’Neill in ensuring our grounds are in great order as we start a new season.

Our walkway in Ballymaw is getting plenty of use with the “Get the parish moving” training sessions in full swing as many prepare for the Karen Fenton Memorial 5k on April 23rd. This walkway is a super facility to have at our doorstep and it’s great to see it being put to great use for the benefit of all the community.

All teams are busy preparing for the season ahead and there has been huge activity in the hall, ball wall and gyms with preseason fitness regimes in full swing. Of course, no team would exist without the backroom team behind them, and we thank all for volunteering for the coming season.

Coaches also had their own training sessions to ensure our teams can get the maximum benefit of all the latest techniques and we thank all who organised these sessions. We have no doubt that this will stand us in great stead for the season ahead.

We wish our club referees best wishes for the season ahead. In an era where officials are in scarce supply it’s great to see our club being well represented.

Ballinora had good representation on School, College and Cork teams and squads. We wish all our players involved every success for 2023. Ballinora GAA is very proud of you all.

Our club lotto celebrated its one-year anniversary. These funds are vital for the future development of our club facilities for all teams. We can already see the upgrade of the Ballymaw dressing rooms and look forward to works progressing in Ballinora in the coming months. We have big ambitions so please keep supporting our lotto and one day, who knows, it could be you!

The Rebel bounty draw kicked off in February and thanks to all who are participating. Membership of this draw is still open, and we hope we can repeat some of the wins we have had in the past

Club membership is now open, so if you wish to renew your membership or become a member, please log on to www.foireann.ie or contact any club officer.
There will be regular updates of all club activities on all our social media sites so please follow us on any of these.

Wishing all teams, players, mentors, committees, volunteers every success for the season ahead.
