April ’22 Bulletin

Spring has come with a flourish with the early growth of grass being accompanied by a significant amount of activity on our pitches by all age group. Full compliments to our grounds team of John Dooley and Pat O’Neill in ensuring our grounds are in top class order.

Our Junior A Hurlers completed the League and Championship double by beating Ballincollig in the delayed 2021 League final.

Our U21 Footballers were competitive in the Mid Cork A Football championship having narrowly lost out to Ballincollig in their last round robin game.

All teams have begun their leagues and we wish them every success for the year ahead.

March was a month of celebration for the achievements of 2021. Our juvenile section held a presentation night in the hall on the 4th of March, where Cork Senior hurler Sean O’Donoghue presented medals to several successful teams and imparted great advice to budding stars of the future.

Our adult and minor teams along with the Camogie and LGFA clubs had their awards night on the 11th of March in the Oriel Hotel Ballincollig.
Well done to the organising committees of these events and recognising the success of our players and management teams over the last 2 years.

Our Under ages teams participated in a Hurling Blitz in Pairc Ui Chaoimh, the Mick Cronin Fundraiser in Bishopstown. Our u12s made the trip to Offaly to play Ballinmere, before adding their support to Cork Footballers to help them avoid relegation. Their support was heralded by Paudie Palmer as being one of the decisive factors in the victory for the Rebels!

Our u14/15 Hurlers travelled to Tipperary to play Borrisleigh ahead of the league final between Cork and Waterford. Unfortunately, Cork lost however we believe our lads picked up plenty tips on not showing our hand too early in the season.

Ballinora has had great representation on Cork teams and squads, and we wish all our player every success for 2022. Ballinora GAA is very proud of you all.

Our club lotto is continuing to build with plenty of local winners of weekly spot prizes. These funds are vital for the future development of our club facilities for all teams. Our Hyper Dome was recognised as one of the best 1st April jokes. We have big ambitions in Ballinora so keep supporting our lotto and one day, who knows. Thanks for your continued support.

The Rebel bounty draw kicked off in February and thanks to all who participated for 2022. Well done to James Lordan on winning the club members draw.
Club membership is now open, so if you wish to renew your membership or become a member, please log on to www.foireann.ie or contact any club officer.

Wishing all teams, players, mentors, committees, volunteers every success.
