Sept’21 Bulletin

The business end of the season continues….

Congratulations to our U21 Footballers who won the Muskerry ‘B’ Final against Aghabullogue on a scoreline of 1-10 to 0-10 in Ovens. Great to see young talent progressing from Juvenile to U21 and beyond. And congratulations to our U18 footballers who defeated Bishopstown in the Mid/South Division U18 A Football Final on the 29th August on Ovens. The future is bright.

Saturday August 21st 2021 will go down as a special day in Ballinora GAA history. James Byrne claimed an All-Ireland Minor Hurling title with Cork by defeating Galway in Semple Stadium. Congratulations to James, his family, his Ballinora and Cork team mates and all Ballinora Coaches that helped James throughout his development years. A special mention to Nathan Davis who was a member of the Cork Minor Football extended panel, who lost to Tyrone in the semi-final. And the excitement did not end there… All in Ballinora GAA Club congratulate Méabh Murphy & Rose Murphy on reaching the All Ireland Minor Final and best of Luck to Clíona Dooley in the upcoming All Ireland Senior Camogie Final.

A FACT for the future…. 10% of the Cork 2021 Minor All-Ireland Finals starting line-up between Hurling and Camogie came from Ballinora!!!

Our Annual Golf Classic took place in Lee Valley on August 26th in glorious sunshine, where we down hurleys and dust off the golf clubs for a day. Thanks to all who participated and a Special thank you to our Main Sponsor ENFER Medical Ltd and to all our many generous Sponsors. There really was no excuse for bad golf!

Our Feile boys took part in the hurling section in Ovens and the football section in Riverstick. Thanks to our sponsors they all got kitted out and represented Ballinora well. At underage, all our teams are busy with games and blitzes. Another successful Cul camp (in Ballymah this year) took place in August with only one day falling victim to bad weather. Special thanks to Niamh and all her team of helpers. The kids really enjoyed it.

Our Intermediate Footballers started their Championship campaign with a loss to Gabriel Rangers. They will now be looking to bounce back with games against Dromtarriffe and Ballydesmond in the coming weeks, and hoping to make the knockout stage. Our Junior Hurlers are playing in the Muskerry Junior ‘A’ Championship on September the 8th against Kilmichael in Ballincollig. Everyone is looking forward to the Junior ‘B’ championship starting in the coming weeks. We wish all our teams and coaches the best of luck in the coming weeks as we reach the business end of the season.

Thank you to all our playing members and non playing members. Remember you can still register as a Non-Playing member, 55 EURO @ foireann.ie Your support as always is greatly appreciated.
